CUISINE
Italian
Tucked away on Elgin Street, Primo Posto isn’t trying to be the hottest new spot in town—it’s busy being your new favourite classic. Tucked between Soho’s chaos and charm, this little Italian joint brings honest food, easygoing vibes, and that sweet spot between casual bistro and date-night charm. A touch of old-school Italy, a pinch of Soho edge, and a space that just feels right.

The Challenge
Fitting big Italian heart into a small Hong Kong space, and even smaller budget. It was all about balance—keeping the vibe warm and generous, the layout smart and flowing, and the intimacy intact. Cozy but never cramped. Busy but never chaotic.
What We Loved
How this project captured the spirit of unpretentious hospitality. How a few simple moves—cane chairs, warm timber, leafy greens, and candlelight—turned a narrow shopfront into a neighbourhood haunt that feels like it’s been here forever. The kind of place where you share a plate of pasta and accidentally stay for a second bottle of wine.
Secret Detail
The half-frosted windows with café curtains? Not just a pretty face. They let light in, keep the buzz alive, and create that little nudge of curiosity from passersby. A peek-in, peek-out kind of charm.
