AWARDS / PRESS / ACCOLADES

A bold, tactile reinterpretation of Japanese teppanyaki culture. Celebrated in the 2019 Surface Interiors Awards, its design fuses raw industrial elements—exposed steel grids, warm wood ceilings and brick walls—with intimate, chef-focused dining booths, creating a dramatic yet welcoming teppanyaki experience.

The Challenge

Balancing intimacy with spectacle. Teppanyaki is inherently performative, but we wanted to anchor it in stillness. Carving out spaces that let fire shine without losing the feeling of quiet control took spatial gymnastics—and a little design magic.

What We Loved

Designing a dining stage where the chef becomes the performance, and the materiality plays the supporting cast. Every booth, brick, and beam was placed with intention—to frame the flame, not compete with it.

Secret Detail

Those booth hoods? Not just a vibe. Each one was custom-sized to create a cone of acoustic and visual focus—shielding diners just enough to keep things personal, while still feeling part of the bigger show.
